Cars That Are At High Theft Risk In South Africa

Security company Devotion ADT says episodes of remote devices have become normal in South Africa and inmates need to give extra thought to ensure their vehicles are locked before leaving them unattended.  Automotive impedance occurs when a criminal uses an innovation that hinders the signal to prevent a vehicle from locking properly.

4,444 South African drivers routinely float away from their vehicles while squeezing their drivers without making sure their vehicles are actually locked, Devotion ADT said. "Tragically, residents are too careless when it comes to removing items from their protected area. There have been twelve car theft incidents recently, including six in Alberton," said Michelle Pelser, director of Constancy ADT JHB South Branch. Pelser said the escort vehicles are considered "high risk" and that if possible the following unit should be introduced:

VW Polo Car

VW Polo Hatchback

Toyota Fortuner

Toyota Etios

Toyota Yaris

Toyota Hilux

Passing Officer

Pelser urged the inmates to move within their protected area if possible and, if not, to ensure that they do not leave any resources in their vehicles during the inspection. “It is particularly important not to leave any resources in the vehicle so that they can be seen from the window. It is ideal to stow these things in the storage compartment, ”he said.

He added that inmates must also ensure that their vehicles are insured when leaving malls, schools, stores and other underserved areas. "Unfortunately, there is increasing use of remote control locks to lock or lock the locking systems of motor vehicles. Constantly verify that the vehicle is locked by testing input. Do not try to expect that when you press the remote control your vehicle will lock will be a vehicle, ”he said.
