Mzansi reacts to young carrying knives, is this a trend?

(Source: - @thuso_thelejane)

Over the past couple of weeks, there has been a trend that doesn’t sit well with many South Africans. It doesn’t matter how the crime has affected this country but there’s always a proper way to deal with it. And that’s to arrest anyone who indulges in wrongdoings. However, some things don’t deserve to be seen online and even in person. As long as it’s against the law of your country then don’t take part in it. If you do, be ready for any backlash that comes with it.

This leads to a tweep on Twitter by name of @thuso_thelejane who has shared a photo of two young ladies carrying knives. Even though it might be a photo, but their pose had many people scared of what they’re capable of doing. They seemed to focus on their pose and look ready for any war. The tweep stated that this is what they have to endure in Bloemfontein, as most women carry dangerous weapons and it’s difficult to even have a conversation with them. “Things we see in Bloemfontein,” said @thuso_thelejane on his Twitter page.

Firstly, if you want to protect yourself then you have to do it the right way. You don’t have to show the world what you’ve got on yourself that you feel will protect you from criminals. Nevertheless, if Bloem's story is true or not, there’s no need for anyone to carry dangerous objects in public. If it’s not allowed by the law and you’re not authorized to, then the best way is to stay away from knives, unless it’s mainly for household purposes. The Twitter community was shocked to see what is alleged about most Bloemfontein women. Meanwhile, some people felt that this shouldn’t be a trend that’s condoned within the country. @Flava_Thebe said, “The reason I’ve never visited that province.” Then @stoan91204137 said, “You Guys make it sound like Bloem is worse than Joburg and Cape Town. People can run from a knife but a gun worse than what we go through in Bloem.”
