The Hawks members collaborated with the South African Police Service (SAPS) members to make a successful recovery of packets of counterfeit taxi-snuff, empty containers, tobacco and other chemicals, a female suspect will be served with J175 summons to appear in court.
According to the saps news report, yesterday, Monday, 15 August 2022 the Hawks and South African Police Service (SAPS) members launched an investigation after receiving information about woman who is a supplier of counterfeit taxi-snuff, this led them to go and conduct a raid at a facility in Drieziek Extension 9, Orange farm (Gauteng Province).
During the search they found packets of counterfeit taxi-snuff empty containers, tobacco and other chemicals which were seized for further investigation, the woman will be served with a J175 summons to appear in court for contravention of the counterfeit goods Act 37 of 1997 after the criminal and civil cases against her are finalized.
She has not yet been arrested at this stage.
