Someone once said, when a man approaches a woman and court her in South Africa, there is a chance that the man may be her potential killer. This was said because of the high femicide rate in the country.
Women who have died in the hands of a man are countless, and the list has not stopped. Women are killed left, right and center mostly by men that they know, love and trust.
Most cases of women who have lost their lives in the hands of a man, are cases where a woman was killed by her partner, be it her lover, boyfriend or husband.
Report
This crime is very consistent and its very scary. A week doesn't simply end without social media trending with a woman who is a victim of femicide or gender based violence.
The latest victim is a 41 year old mother named Thobeka Msomi, from KwaXimba in KwaZulu Natal, who was sadly killed by her husband.
According to the source, the 41 year-old teacher was shot in the head by her husband, who is a police man, he was also a very abusive man.
The source revealed that Thobeka was found dead by her child, and her husband has been arrested.
Where are women supposed to be safe, women do no longer feel safe with their partners. If a husband, who is also a policeman, does this. Who is to protect women from such crimes?
