Road Accident

Head-on collision between bus and truck claims at least 15 lives in Tshwane “Photos"

An accident is an unintentional, usually unwelcome event that is not the result of human action. While the term "accident" indicates that no one is to blame, the occurrence could have been caused by hazards that were not recognized or addressed. Most researchers who investigate unintentional injury avoid using the term "accident" and instead concentrate on factors that raise the likelihood of severe injury and factors that lower the incidence and severity of damage. For example, a tree may not have fallen during a windstorm because of humans, but the tree's kind, size, health, position, or inappropriate maintenance may have contributed to the result.

In Tshwane, a head-on collision between a bus and a truck has claimed at least 15 lives.

A head collision between a bus and a truck on the M17 in Garankuwa, Tshwane, has killed at least 15 people. Emergency personnel have arrived on the scene.

The death toll is expected to grow in the coming days.

Tshwane motorists are being warned by Emergency Services spokesperson Charles Mabaso. "Please be aware of a head-on collision between a bus and a truck on the M17 near the Bundu Inn in Tshwane, where emergency services are on the scene with many patients."
