The Story of My 'Yahoo' Son Attempting To Remove My Eyes For Money Ritual - Delta Woman Narrated:
Following his successful persuasion of his mother Mrs Oke Eregarnoma, Emma Eregarnoma invited her to his home on Caroline Street in Okuokoko, where he had informed her that he had a surprise gift for her in the works.
Her arrival revealed Emma in an unusually upbeat and joyful mood, which she attributed to his having welcomed her into the residence. Afterwards, he turned up the volume on his electronic music devices.
Oke claims that her son abruptly closed the door and began making attempts to strangle and pluck out her eyeballs while she begged for assistance, adding that no one could hear her screams because of the loud music playing in the house.
She claims that after a few minutes of struggling with his son, she recovered her strength and fled outdoors, where she was rescued by a group of neighbors.
Before the assault, Mrs Oke Eregarnoma, when lying in a hospital bed recovering from her injuries, told media that her son had bragged that "he must drive GLK this week." She described her experience in detail.
This led to an arrest and transportation to the police station of the suspect.
For her role in the incident, which happened on Tuesday in the Okuokoko village near Warri and was reported to police, Emma was held at the Orerokpe divisional police headquarters in Okpe Local Government Area in Delta State.
The event was verified by DSP Bright Edafe, the Delta State Police Public Relations Officer in charge of media relations, who also said that the suspect was taken into custody.
