Tsakane Residents Give Thanks to SANDF and Mall Security With a Cup of Soup and Bread

Tsakane township is situated in the far east of Ekurhuleni, it is one of the townships that is closely associated with Geluksdal, Duduza and Kwa Thema. Since some parts of Ekurhuleni have also been hit by the mushrooming of the looting and burning of shopping malls and centers, Tsakane itself was also hit as two of their shopping centers were looted and damaged, Tsakane square and Tsakane corner which are situated in extension 19 in the east of Tsakane and extension 11 which is situated in the west part of Tsakane.

Tsakane has a shopping mall as well, which is situated opposite Tsakane police Station and Tsakane Magistrates Court, and the good news is that it was not looted neither touched by the would be looters as it has been heavily guarded by the community members who come from different sections of Tsakane, Kwa Thema, Geluksdal, Duduza and Langavile.

The Tsakane residence are not alone in this duty as they are assisting the SANDF members and the mall security from Bhekani Abantu that is stationed at Tsakane mall 24/7. The members of the SAPS, EMPD, Brakpan Taxi Association, Community volunteers and the Basothong Neighborhood Watch Forum have worked tirelessly to protect the Mall from would be looters.

The members of the SANDF and the mall security were surprised with a beautiful gesture by Tsakane residents as they were led by Nosipho Msiza, one of the committed members of Tsakane community who is not new in doing community initiatives in her area. What they did was to gift the SANDF members and the mall security with a hot cup of soup and bread as it was a cold morning in Tsakane. To some people this can be something that can be lowly rated.

The service that Nosipho Msiza and Nthabiseng Ntamote and other community members did for the mall security and to the members of the army is one of the most beautiful things that anyone can do, especially to the members of the army as they are not appreciated that much by the very people they serve on a daily basis. And of course, the nice cup of soup and bread was not only to the members of the army and the mall security, the community members who also volunteered in safeguarding the mall were also gifted with the same gesture as well.

It is good that Tsakane Mall survived any attack as most parts of Gauteng were badly hit by the recent spring of looting, and in some areas they are already struggling to find a place where they can buy bread and milk because they chose to destroy their economic hubs. The residents of Tsakane made sure that they safe guard their shopping mall as they supported the SANDF members and the security personnel that was stationed at the mall.

At the end of the day, Nosipho and Nthabiseng gave their thanks to everyone who showed support for this wonderful initiative, and they have invited anyone who wish to partner with them to communicate with Nosipho on her Facebook. Tsakane and surrounding residents are advised that Tsakane Mall will be opened today Friday the 16th, they will be trading from 9am to 3pm. The shops that will be operating will be those that are selling essential needs and medicine, Banks and ATM's will be closed.
