Notice Mtebeni was found murdered in East London on 19 August 2021.
Mtebeni was killed and dismembered allegedly by her boyfriend Alutha Basile. Her body parts were found stuffed inside two plastic on the street in East London's Quigney suburb. Her remaining parts were found allegedly in possession of Basile room five of a 10 bedroom commune house they shared with tenants in the fleet street.
The body of Nosicelo was found by a street boy who saw Alutha throwing away big plastics and he thought was food, he got surprised when he met something very disturbing inside the plastics then he informed the police.
University of Fort Hare Convocation pledged R150 000 to Nosicelo Mtebeni's family in support of the slain law student. The plan is to also assist the family to obtain skills of their choice to start a project to sustain the family financially. The Convocation has met with the family of Nosicelo to honor the pledge of support they made. Advocate Andile Mini says they want to improve the livelihood of the family.
Mtebeni's family was very grateful for the help and they indeed confirmed that the money will change their livelihood.
