Eskom announces possible loadshedding this weekend over the cold front

Eskom has issued out a warning to the public that it might implement loadshedding stage 2 on last minutes from 4pm till midnight which will also have a possibility of happening also on the weekend. They warned that the national power grid is currently constrained.

They had to do away with load-shedding on Thursday after they had to deal with shortages that were at some of the generational units. This has been going on for some days now.

They made a point that they cannot fight against loadshedding at this point as their systems are under a lot of severe strain.

A cold front was announced to happen this weekend, this will likely increase the demand and put the power grid under more strain. South Africans will be informed should there be any changes to the situation announced.

The Hendrina power station has recorded two major breakdowns. Kusile, Komatsu, Kendal and Tutuka power stations are also affected which puts pressure on the national grid.
