Durban: The Independent Police Investigative Directorate (Ipid) said it was researching an instance of death because of police activity after a police officer purportedly shot his better half dead.
This comes as the nation notices the 16 Days of No Violence against Women and Children crusade.
The episode occurred in the Eastern Cape on Sunday morning.
Ipid representative Grace Langa said they got data that a cop purportedly shot his better half multiple times, lethally injuring her.
"It is claimed the sweetheart went to the cop's home and she observed the beau with another lady dozing in the house. A contention followed and afterward the cop quickly took shots at the lady, who passed on at the scene."
Langa said the cop, from Kanvelihle SAPS, was captured and the gun was seized.
"Ipid is as yet gathering data about the expired and the cop," said Langa.We ought to see what will happen next.
