johannesburg - Tributes have poured in for political activist and change union chief Swaminathan "Swami" Karuppa Gounden, ninety four, who died on Tuesday morning.

Gounden became popularly referred to as one of the closing surviving ANC contributors who attended the ancient signing of the Freedom Charter on the 1955 Congress of the People in Kliptown, Soweto.
