Pastor Shots His Wife In The Head

In this Women’s Month, we have been constantly hearing heartbreaking stories of how women have been getting killed by their significant others.

Bishop Mpendulo Brian Nkambule took to Twitter to post these shocking news, “Last night I heard that Sikhumbuzo Shongwe shot his wife claiming self defense. I know Skhumbuzo Shongwe and his wife Jabulile Teren Nkonyane Shongwe personally. As a leader of society and church, I condemn the shooting of Jabulile by her husband Sikhumbuzo.

As a church we must escalate our fight against Abuse and Violence against Women and Children. Our gun control laws must also be revised. Someone must be investigated for giving Sikhumbuzo a gun when he has a history of violent aggressive behavior. I am sad because I personally did nothing when Jabulile cried for help on social media almost three weeks ago. I didn't reach out to her or even Sikhumbuzo and today she is lying in a hospital bed fighting for her life. I pray for Jabulile to miraculously recover so her children will grow up with a mother.

I pray that God will strengthen her family and her little children. May God have mercy and spare her life. Concerning Sikhumbuzo, let justice prevail is all I can say. I am very close to Bishop Dr Nash Shongwe Shongwe and family, so I write this with a heavy heart. I spoke to him this morning and he told me how much effort he put trying to resolve the issues in this relationship. He personally took his son to the police to be charged this morning. This is tough for any parent from either side, no matter how we may see it. Lord have mercy!”

The victim, Jabulile Shongwe, took to Twitter to post this, “ Lord I’m still in shock on how I survived 5 close range gunshots....I need you today God. I acknowledge I cannot do all. I depend on you to help me get where I need to go. Help not to get discouraged. I know your ways are perfect. Bless me with faith and hope. Amen!”

Daimani Siba left this comment on the post, “That is what you pastors are good at, you do nothing when a woman is being abused, especially when the perpetrator is calling himself a pastor. Just delete this post it’s disgusting!”
