DURBAN (AP) – On Sunday, a man's body was discovered inside a shopping cart on the M4 Ruth First Highway.
According to Emer-G-Med spokesperson Kyle Van Reenen, paramedics were called to assist the SAPS at approximately 1:30 p.m. on Sunday after a passing motorist reported seeing a body on the M4 Ruth First Highway near the Swapo Road bridge.
According to reports from the site, a 30-year-old man
was discovered sitting in a shopping cart with no indications of life," he said.
Paramedics declared the man dead, according to Van Reenen.
While the cause of death is deemed to be natural, he stated that an inquest would be held.
The body of a woman who washed away in her car during the floods was found on Friday, according to IPSS Medical Rescue spokeswoman Dylan Meyrick.
"The victim was discovered in a dam downstream of where her car had been carried away. Rescuers were unable to enter the water due to contamination in the dam. "An SANDF helicopter was requested, and they assisted with the victim's recovery," he explained.
