Harsh sentence for murder

Twenty (20) years imprisonment for the man who killed a pregnant woman

The deceased Tshegofatso Pule was found stabbed and hanging from a tree

THE man who killed Tshegofatso Pule, 28, and her unborn child in June last year has been jailed for 20 years.

Muzikayise Malephane has entered into a plea agreement with the state and was jailed in the Johannesburg High Court on Friday.

Malephane said he was offered R70 000 to kill Pule and make it look like suicide, reports SABC News.

Pule was eight months pregnant when her body was found on a tree in Roodepoort. She had stab wounds to her upper body.

According to Malephane, the father of the unborn child, a married man, gave the order. He wanted to prevent his wife from finding out about the child.

The man was arrested on Thursday night and will appear in the Roodepoort Magistrate's Court on Monday.
