Filling stations are now facing an increase in fuel thef. Drivers are filling up and then driving away without paying leaving the poor petrol attendant with a huge bill.

A VW Polo driver in Namakgale ran away after filling up petrol at a station. The petrol attendant poured petrol in his car, while going to fetch the swiping machine card, the driver took off.

Engen garage is the first filling station that advised its petrol attendants to hold on the keys of the vehicle or expect customers to pay first.

Fuel prices are extremely high in our country and we are learning that another increase is on the cards for next month. This is devastating news for motorists who need their vehicles for work.

To make matters worse, the Repo Rate has been increased by 50 basis points. This will result in car and bond repayments being more expensive.
