Suspects in Lucky Maselesele's murder ARRESTED

Over the past decade crime rates in South Africa has increased at an alarming rate. During the period of April 2021 and June 2021 over 5 760 murder cases were recorded.

What is most concerning is that, at the same time, the conviction rate has drastically declined. Statistics for the last few years indicate that convictions are at historic lows.

On Friday evening many publications across South Africa broke the news that former Kaizer Chiefs star player Lucky Maselesele suffered a gruesome death in the hands of the community of Alexandra. According to reports Maselesele was caught by members of the community while he was trying to steal electric cables and was badly beaten. The Kaizer Chiefs star player was later confirmed deceased at the scene by paramedics.

Furthermore it has was reported that the former Kaizer Chiefs star player was so deep into drugs to a point of addiction. It was further stated that initially the community of Alexandra tried to seek help for him before deciding to take the matter into their own hands.

As of Saturday evening there has since been new developments into this story. It has been reported that two male key suspects were arrested at the crime scene for the murder of Lucky Maselesele. According to sources one suspect has since appeared before the Wynberg Court on Friday and the matter was postponed for bail hearing.

According to police spokesperson Mavela Masondo on Wednesday evening at 11:50pm they received a complaint that an unknown male was being assaulted by members of the community. When they approached the crime scene the group ran away and they were able to apprehend two suspects who faces murder charges.

Police Spokesperson Mavela Masondo has further went to reveal at this point in time they are busy with investigations as they are hoping to apprehend more suspects.
