The Load shedding start and end dates have been confirmed, Here's when and how to deal with it.

Unfortunately Load shedding a part of South African life. It's inconvenient and can often make us angry but it's something we have to eventually deal with. Recently Eskom announced a new period of load shedding that will affect South Africans as well as very specific start and end dates. In this article I will inform you of those as well as provide you with some helpful tips of how to deal with it.

The new dates :

Eskom recently put out a press release stating that due to a shortage of generation capacity, load shedding will start again today. They claim that this is due to delays in returning some generation units back to service. Unfortunately this means that South Africans will be further inconvenienced by the power cuts. Here is the press release and the dates that have been confirmed.

Stage two load shedding will start at 9:00 this morning and will continue until 05:00 on Saturday. This is a long time so here are some helpful tips that may make your life easier during this period.

How to prepare :

Start by making a checklist and gathering the essentials. You will need things like candles, pre cooked food and maybe even a power bank. Pre cooked meals or easy to cook meals can help you quickly cook food if you are close to load shedding times. Instead of candles you may also purchase cheap battery operated lights. In order to pass the time during load shedding, you can either read, get fun games for your family to play together or get a battery operated mp3 player which will play music from a USB or micro SD card. While the load shedding is inconvenient, it doesn't have to be a burden you can choose to make it fun. What do you think of these observations, tell me in the comments section and follow for more news as it happens.
