Road Accident

Young Student Has Been Killed On The R71 Road In Limpopo, Look At What happened To Him (Photos)

A young student has been killed on the R71 road in Limpopo province. His demise threw many into mourning as the 21-year-old still had his life ahead of him. The number of accidents on our roads seems to be rising every day. This trend is saddening because of the large number of injuries and deaths that get recorded each year. Although road safety is quite important for every driver, we can only hope that the number of accidents will decrease.

Reports reaching us have confirmed the cause of death of a 21-year-old student. The University of Limpopo student named Wordsworth Sekatane has reportedly lost his life on the R71 road in Magoebaskloof near Mountain Lodge, in Limpopo province.

It was gathered that Sekatane lost his life after the car he boarded, had a head-on collision with a lorry. A family member of the deceased came forth with the details behind his demise.

Sekatane was returning to his home in Bushbuckridge from Turfloop to spend the weekend, last week. He was in the School of Molecular and Life Sciences at the University, sadly, his time was cut short by yet another horror accident.

Reports also say that students at Limpopo University are planning to hold a candlelight ceremony on campus in honour of the late 21-year-old.

It was also stated that Sekatane's funeral details are yet to be determined.

"A family member confirmed to Polokwane Weekly that he was killed on the R71 road in Magoebaskloof near Mountain Lodge after the vehicle he was travelling in collided with a lorry head-on. Sekatane was reportedly on his way home in Bushbuckridge from Turfloop for the long weekend.

The 21-year-old was enrolled at the School of Molecular and Life Sciences at the University of Limpopo, Turfloop. Students at the University have confirmed that they will hold a candlelight ceremony on campus to honour the life of the deceased.

Sekatane's funeral details are yet to be confirmed," reports say.

For me, I think that one way to reduce road-related deaths from accidents is to incorporate aggressive road safety training for all drivers in Mzansi. If every driver is educated and re-educated on how to drive safely, then we will see progress in road safety.
