The funeral of the late Jolidee Matongo who died as a results of car accident last week Friday was buried Yesterday with a beautiful send-off.Matongo's funeral was held yesterday on the 24th of September 2021 at Finetown Hall.He was given a dignified funeral from his wife, the ANC and government.
However what ANC wrote on his Tombstone is heart breaking, it is written " Son of the late Edward Matongo a migrant from Zimbabwe ". Was is really that necessary to write such word on a tombstone?.Yes we know it's a fact that his father was a Zimbabwean migrant but writing it on a tombstone I think its unnecessary.
It is enough that I is written in his biography but on a tombstone I think its heartbreaking.Matongo was born on the 06th of October in 1974,Dube Soweto South Africa. He was the newly appointed Johannesburg Mayor filling in the shoes of the late Jeoff Makhubo who passed away due to covid 19 complications
May their beautiful souls rest in eternal peace.
