South Africa is a rich mix of many different cultures and races. These groups all have their own unique way of doing things, however sometimes some of these things are funny. Recently one Indian man decided to talk about something that Zulu people do, in a video, and it's got a lot of Black South Africans replying. Here's what he said.
His opinion :
In the video, which you can watch by clicking on the link below, an indian man decided to talk about how Zulu people speak when they call you.
He says that Zulu people don't care if they got the wrong number when they call you. All they care about is "Upi Jabu". While I'm not sure if the spelling of that last word is right, it is how he pronounces it. What he means when he says this is that Zulu will ask you for Jabu, regardless of whether they are talking to the right person or not.
Of course this got a lot of Black South Africans replying, Here's what they had to say.
As we can see the majority of the people who replied either agreed with him or found this funny, with only a small number of people finding this offensive.
The reality of the situation :
Since the end of Apartheid we have been trying to unite as a rainbow nation and I genuinely believe that the ability to laugh at ourselves and find the humor in any situation, will help I do this.
I'm glad that South Africans replied mostly positively to this man's opinion, Instead of taking offense to it or calling it racist.
