The Reaction Unit South Africa members in collaboration with police have managed to secure the successful arrest of one suspect after multiple vehicles were recovered at a chop shop in Iqadi (KwaZulu-Natal Province), however the other four suspects managed to evade arrest.
According to the Reaction Unit South Africa news report, yesterday, Tuesday, 10 May 2022 members of the Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) got a signal from a tracking company about a white Toyota Corolla Prestige that was hijacked in Montclair, and following up on this signal led them to Iqadi (KwaZulu-Natal Province).
Police spotted the suspected stolen vehicle and five suspects abandoned the vehicle and fled into a dense bush, police members continued to search the areas and they found one suspect hiding inside a cupboard in a nearby residence, a stolen Toyota Etios and a Ford Ranger bakkie were found at the residence suspects sped off from.
This gave police a clear picture that the suspects would hijack vehicles and strip them down at a chop shop, police are still searching for the other four suspects who evaded arrest.
