Crime Justice

Lucky Maselesele "BEATEN" to death

In his latest crime statistics report dating back between April 2021 and June 2021 Police Minister Bheki Cele made it known that heinous crimes had received a significant increase as compared to the previous financial year.

According to the Minister 206 murders occurred in Liqour outlets and are the fourth most likely place to get killed in South Africa. We claim to live in democratic South Africa while we are not even safe in the comfort of our homes, it's sickening.

In South Africa more especially in the football fraternity we are currently under a dark cloud after we learned about the passing of former Kaizer Chiefs star player Lucky Maselesele. On Friday evening many publications across the country shared the sad news about his passing but during that time details of his passing were still sketchy.

The sad news of the passing of Lucky Maselesele were also confirmed by another fellow former footballer Isaac Mabotsa who had visited the family in Tembisa. As more details were coming in former Mamelodi Sundowns star player Lavas Mohlala would also confirm the fact that Lucky Maselesele was murdered.

To make matters worse we have since went to learn that the former Kaizer Chiefs star player was beaten to death. At this point in time it is not known who was behind it. At this point in time we can only hope justice prevails.

The late Lucky Maselesele made his professional football debut in 1998 in the colours of Kaizer Chiefs where he went to establish himself as one of the most exciting attackers. During the course of his career he would also have the opportunity to play for defunct Manning Rangers, Thanda Royal Zulu, Maritzburg United, Black Leopards and FC AK amongst a few.

We would like to send our deepest condolences to his family with the hopes that they find comfort through these difficult times.
