Five people died in a horror crash.
In a multi-vehicle crash on Schoemanskloof Pass in Mpumalanga on Friday, 4 March, five persons were killed, including the driver.
Kyle van Reenen, a spokesperson for Emer-G-Med, said paramedics were sent to the location just after noon.
An accident involving a light delivery truck, a minibus, and a heavy-duty vehicle occurred head-on. "There were three fatalities on board the Quantum, all of them were adult foreign national visitors," Van Reenen said in a statement.
He went on to say that an occupant of a small delivery truck had also been confirmed deceased at the scene.
According to Van Reenen, "the driver of the heavy-duty truck was discovered entangled in the debris, and jaws of life were required to cut him free."
Four persons had injuries ranging from mild to serious in severity, and they were sent to several hospitals in the surrounding area.
