Theft robbery

Another cross border bus from Joburg to Zimbabwe has been robbed

The Christmas holidays are synonymous with people travelling back home.

Scores of Zimbabweans use the holiday as a much needed relief by travelling back home.

This trend has seen a rise I'm the number of criminals who are targeting cross border buses.

Another bus has been hit by these criminals. It has been reported that sixty six passengers aboard a MBT bus were last night robbed of R167 050 and $7367 by three armed robbers.

It is believed that the Armed robbers had disguised themselves as genuine travellers in the same bus.

When the bus was now in the middle of the bushes, the robbers suddenly drew out pistols and started shooting at passengers before searching them one-by-one.

One lady who tried resisting the robbers by holding her money possessively was also reportedly shot in the chest.

It has been reported that Police said the incident occured at the 186km peg along the Harare-Masvingo Highway near Mvuma town around 11pm yesterday.

The robbers now have new tactics of boarding buses pretending to be passengers before going on to rob their victims.

They can not be traced as most Zimbabweans boarding these are undocumented and they do not present their particulars when boarding the cross border buses.
