The Pretoria High Court on Monday has sentenced a couple from Booysens in Tshwane, Wayne Loubser, 36, and Justine Loubser, 32, for kid disregard, normal attack, and inability to enroll a youngster after they attempted to sell their two-month-old child for R500. 

As indicated by the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA), the couple will be condemned on 1 February 2021.

Loubsers moved toward a lady named Saunders, who claimed a food truck in Booysens around July-August 2020 and requested her assistance to purchase food and nappies for the kid. 

Saunders proceeded 

to purchase nappies and child equation for the child, until a R2,000 and R2,500 offers were made independently by the couple to sell the kid. 

On 4 November, as per the NPA, Wayne returned to the food truck to enquire if Saunders had thought about the proposition.

"Saunders informed him that his better half additionally attempted to sell the child for R2,500. Wayne then, at that point, marked down his cost to R1,000. 

"On 5 November early afternoon, Justine went to the food truck to request that Saunders rethink purchasing the child and decreased her proposal to R500. On 6 November, Wayne went to the food truck to Saunders and took steps to kill the child on the off chance that she didn't get him. 

"It was additionally put on record in court that the couple made the child drink cool guide [sic] while the dad ate the child recipe. The court likewise heard that the couple more than once attacked the child on various occasions on various events. The mother would take the child to her workplace at a bar while the dad would drop the kid off at Saunders' food truck while inebriated. 

"The police along with Saunders set an ensnarement for the couple. The police gave Saunders R500 to purchase the child from the couple. The trade occurred outside the couple's home among Justine and Saunders while Wayne was inside the house."
