On Friday, the community of Dlamini Soweto came together to show their support for the emergency services and team hunting for 6-year-old Khaya Magadla. On Sunday, while playing with friends, the six-year-old from Dlamini, Soweto, fell into an open manhole. Residents, schoolchildren, and family members gathered, singing together in the hopes of finding the missing boy.

Robert Mulaudzi, a representative for the emergency services, said they would search for him until he was found. "In regions where we can't physically deploy technicians, we'll send a robot, and we're aiming to have it up and running by today." The hunt for the kid has so far yielded no results, with the search expected to resume on Saturday. On Friday, residents gathered in large numbers in support of the family, hoping that the search and rescue crews would find Kaya. The parents were shocked, according to a family member who did not want to be identified.
