A truck belonging to the DA was hijacked by unknown people in Richmond, KZN. Members of the DA who were inside it were tied with cable ties and dumped and the truck burnt. The truck was travelling to Ixopo when five armed men travelling in a white bakkie stopped it, they hijacked the truck while two DA members were inside and held them hostage.
The suspects drove the truck to a isolated area in a plantation where the truck was stripped and the sound system stolen, the truck was then set alight.
Fortunately none of the victims were injured but they had a very traumatic experience, the party spokesperson captain Nqobile Gwala confirmed that the matter is being investigated. A case has been opened at the police station.
On Friday, the DA also laid charges of assault against an eThekwini ANC councillor after he reportedly assaulted a DA staff member outside the eThekwini electricity offices in Durban. They want the elections to go ahead without any intimidation from anyone or party, because it is it seems like they are being intimidated.
Elections have to be fair and just so there is no reason for any members of the public or political party members to intimidate the other parties, each party has the right to a fair chance of getting voted for.
Most South African citizens are very concerned because if this is going to start happening then how far is it going to get, and how many people are going to get hurt just because of elections. If you have any information that could lead to the arrest of the culprits behind this incident, please come forward as it may be very useful to police and help them to arrest the people on time. What’s your take on this matter?
