Given that we are in the fire season, Capricorn District Municipality today commenced with the Disaster Risk Management workshops targeting various traditional authorities within the District.
The workshop started at Ga-Mamabolo Moshate, Thune in Polokwane Local Municipality. The workshop covered presentations on fire safety, road safety, evacuation plans and disaster management.
The fire presentation by Fire Fighter Maswanganyi covered fire safety tips, types of fire, causes and preventative measures. Officer Mojela from Polokwane Municipality, Mankweng Traffic Station focused on road safety.
The Provincial Disaster Management also presented on Disaster Management.
The workshop continues tomorrow at Ga-Monyebodi in Blouberg Local Municipality.To start the month of September, the heritage month, CDM launched its Heritage day and Covid-19 awareness campaign at Ga-Kgosi Seakamela in Blouberg Municipality at the village called Avon Marobyane.
The event was focusing on ensuring the Traditional Authorities and Leaders continues to play a role in motivating the people to vaccinate.
Pamphlets on Covid19, masks and sanitizers were distributed to the members of the community.
The next heritage and health awareness campaigns will be hosted by Moshate wa Machaka in Molemole Municipality on the 10th September 2021.
