Today there was confusion at Gatundu hospital mortuary in the county of Kiambu after mortuary officials discovered that an elderly dead man who was not circumcised.
The 80-year-old man has been married to children and several grandchildren.
According to the traditions of Kikuyu, burying an uncircumcised grown man is a taboo. Most men are generally divided between 13 and 15 years of age, after which they receive guidance on how to live in society as men.
The mortuary servants had to urgently call the elders in order to make a decision on the case.
After long discussions, the elders concluded that he had to undergo the rite of circumcision before he was buried in order to avoid the gods being angry.
Because he is about to be burried tommorow, before they dressed his body they had to circumcise him.
His family haven't talked about the problem yet.
