According to road safety agency Arrive Alive, a hijacking suspect was left stranded on the side of the road on Wednesday after the victim fought back.
The incident occurred in Randburg, Gauteng, where the road safety agency believes more people were involved in the attempted hijacking, but only one suspect remained on the scene after the victim fought back.
The victim is said to have run over one of the suspects while fighting back.
“Attempted hijacking on Lange Ave, Quellerina, Randburg. The victim ran over one of the suspects, who has been detained during the attempt. Accomplices fled in a white BMW X3, no registration has been obtained as of yet,” said Arrive Alive in a statement on Wednesday.
An image of the hijacking suspect lying helpless on the ground was posted on the Arrive Alive Twitter account.
Twitter users have shown no sympathy for the alleged hijacker and have praised the victim for their bravery.
