IN OTHER NEWS: MEC NKAKARENG RAKGOALE CONDEMNS THE RAPE OF A MINOR BY HER FATHER IN LIMPOPO.
Limpopo MEC for Social Development Nkakareng Rakgoale has commended the police for arresting a 35-year old man who allegedly raped his five-year old daughter at Maphophe village outside Malamulele in Limpopo.
Police say the man called his daughter while she was playing with her friends to his room and he allegedly raped her.
The suspect is due to appear in court on Wednesday, 26th of January.
MEC Rakgoale has condemned the incident and described it as despicable.
"What has happened is inhumane and this is an indication that some
community members have actually turned into something else. You can not even want to start imagining what was going on in his mind when he committed this senseless act.
"This matter has been referred to our social workers who have started providing psychosocial support to the victim, her family and other affected parties. We want the courts to deal harshly. We also want to appreciate family members who reported this matter to the authorities, as breaking the silence assists us to expose these evil deeds" says MEC Rakgoale.
