Road Accident

Horrific Car Crash 'Left' Mzansi In Shock

The frequent nature in which road accidents are occurring in South Africa has reached preposterous levels, a lot of people regardless of which strata they come from have lost their lives on our roads, and quite clearly the South African government seems powerless in so far as finding the required measures to deal with the situation.

Broadcasting doyen, Faith Mangope, took to twitter this evening to revealed that she was involved in a horrific car accident earlier this afternoon.

Mangope who currently works at pay-television channel eNCA and commercial radio talk station PowerFm, posted pictures of her badly damaged luxurious Mercedes-Benz Mercedes-Benz sedan as well as of herself while seated on a wheelchair in hospital.

A vividly distraught and seemingly unscathed Mangope waxed lyrical about the imperative gift that is life, stating that life is very fragile in all of its forms. She explicitly gave all her thanks to the great geometriacian of the universe for protecting her life in a situation which could have easily became fatal.

"Life…It’s so precious and yet so fickle. As a sit in the hospital I’m grateful once again for life. Someone really loves me up there❤️," Mangope tweeted on her official twitter account.

The 34-years old's received lots of love from her colleagues and the broader public, with many sending her well-wishes and for her recovery to happen speedily.

Although police can be seen from the snaps where the accident occurred, an investigation is believed to be already underway to ascertain what mainly caused it. But it seems it was not really a head-on collision from the provided picture, as there is no other car within its periphery.

There are certainly plenty of takeaways from Mangope's accident, it goes again to the issue of our roads been dangerous, this danger emanates from their state (the roads are laden with potholes) due to poor maintenance and sometimes they are too narrow in busy areas.

The other issue which causes a lot of road accidents is motorists who drive under the influence of alcohol, we could never know whether Mangope was in a state of sobriety or not. However, generally, South Africans love their alcohol and Fridays are largely dominated by accidents, hence this is not coincidental.

As part of the solution to reduce this carnage, perhaps the department of transport should seriously consider hiring more traffic cops, and ensure there is visibility at all times, this could come a long way in so far as managing our roads.

The OnlineNewzBible team wishes Faith Mangope a speedy recovery.
