In Shock| 80 Lives Claimed On The B97 Route Due To This

There's a lot of violence in the taxi industry and it is has been going on for a long while, the taxi industry is destroying the economy in so many ways. It is extremely disheartening to see people killing each other for money and other minor reasons, the most sad part is that innocent people end up getting hurt. People are now afraid of using taxis but the taxi drivers keep forcing them by fighting the uber drivers. It is bad because people have the right to choose a safe way to travel, the taxi drivers do not want to refrain from their behavior.

Western Cape Transport Minister, Dylan Mitchell, says the taxi route between Bellville and Mbekweni in Paarl will remain closed for another two months. The route, B97, was closed in July to quell violence between taxi groups, CATA and CODETA. More than 80 people have been killed in taxi violence in the province since the start of this year. Mitchell says the arbitration process between the taxi associations is not yet complete. People on media were suggesting that the route should be closed forever, it would be much better if the taxi industry is closed. The taxi operators cause chaos and economic instability.
