7 people dead and 30 critically injured

7 people have been confirmed deceased at the scene and 30 more pupils critically injured following a multiple collision of vehicles. The collision took place on Monday at 15:42 in KwaZulu Natal Midlands.

The collision has left some vehicles in flames, which in these vehicles includes a tanker. Emergency Medical Services spokesperson in KwaZulu Natal Robert McKenzie has confirmed the horrible news, confirming that 7 people have lost their lives on the scene.

McKenzie continued to say that the firefighters managed to contain most of the fire, although the tanker and the bus that transport flammable liquids was still in flames. Unfortunately it's was learnt that 7 people have lost their lives.

Netcare’s 911 spokesperson Shawn Herbst said that the crash took place at 15:42. He said "the reports are confirming that multiple vehicles, including the tanker and the bus collided, leaving 4 people critically injured and other people with minor injuries.

He also said "the rescue services team is still on the scene, calming the fire and to determine if there are no any deaths caused by this fatal crash"
