The Independent Police Investigative Directorate (IPID) is researching the homicide.
The lady was killed at around 19:00 on Sunday in the wake of strolling in Main Road for certain loved ones.
While they were strolling, a cop in a private vehicle pulled up behind them. The lady pivoted and strolled to the vehicle, where she addressed the official while remaining at the driver's side entryway. She was seen clasping hands with the official, IPID representative Grace Langa.
"The workplace then, at that point, positioned his administration gun and he discharged numerous shots toward the expired while she was escaping," Langa said.
She was proclaimed dead at the scene and the body was taken to Malmesbury Forensic Pathology Services.
"The speculate gave himself over to the police and he was quickly captured," Langa added.
He is expected to show up in the Piketberg Magistrate's Court on Tuesday on a charge of homicide.

Rural and Farmworkers Development Organization executive director Billy Claasen said the episode occurred in full perspective on the lady's child.
He added that the association would request of the court to deny the man bail.
