On Monday, the event occurred in Atteridgeville's Marabastad informal settlement. According to neighbors, Charmaine Munepya was playing with her pals in a neighbor's yard a few meters from her home when the pit bull broke over the gate.
The dog is said to have charged at the four children, scattering them as they attempted to run.
After being attacked by a pitbull, a father discovered his daughter in a pool of blood. This follows the unfortunate death of a six-year-old child mauled to death by two of his neighbors' pitbulls. Charmaine Munepya was picked up from school and dropped off at home by her father on Monday afternoon, May 16th.
She then went out with her buddies to play. He received a call telling him that he needed to return right away and rush his daughter to the hospital. But he wasn't expecting what happened next. He discovered his daughter in a blood bath, beyond recognition, and she had died a painful death.
The other kids ran inside the nearest houses, chased by the pitbulls.
