"On Thursday, shortly after 18h00, Emer-G-Med paramedics responded to a collision involving a minibus taxi on the R102 near the Ilovo River Bridge in the Winklespruit area south of Durban."
ACCORDING TO REPORTS, THE TAXI LEFT THE ROAD.
According to Van Reenen, a minibus taxi left the roadway and rolled down an embankment before coming to a stop on its side.
Sixteen commuters were treated for minor to serious injuries before being transported to various nearby hospitals for further treatment."
ANOTHER TAXI ACCIDENT HAPPENED EARLY ON THURSDAY
Meanwhile, earlier on Thursday in Germiston, eleven people were injured when the taxi they were riding in rolled on the N17 near the Rondebult turnoff.
Paramedics arrived at the accident scene around 09:34, according to ER24.
A taxi and trailer were discovered on their side in the middle of a busy road by paramedics. The passengers were seen sitting on the roadside."
Eleven people were injured, including a girl.
When paramedics arrived, they discovered that ten adults and an 11-year-old girl had minor to moderate injuries.
"Fortunately, there were no serious injuries or fatalities discovered." Paramedics treated the patients before transporting them to nearby hospitals for further treatment."
According to ER24, the details of this incident are unknown, but local authorities were on the scene to conduct further investigations.
