According to reports from various reputable sources including https://www.iol.co.za, a 34 year old man named Samuel John Noko has been arrested for allegedly killing his 29 year old girlfriend named Monni Monyeki and burying her in a shallow grave near a river in Mathibestad.
According to a statement from Henry Mamothame who is the spokesperson for the National Prosecuting Authority in the North West, Samuel John Noko is a pastor in the popular South African church called the Zion Christian Church (ZCC), and it is understood that Noko allegedly killed Monyeki as part of a ritual, and according to reports Monyeki's body was found missing some unspecified body parts which suggests that Noko used the body parts for the ritual.
"The two allegedly left together to perform some rituals, and shortly afterwards, Noko was spotted pushing Monyeki in a wheelbarrow after she had consumed a substance that made her dizzy. She allegedly disappeared after this incident" - said Mamothame.
However, some South Africans on social media site Twitter are disputing the reports that Samuel John Noko is a ZCC pastor, some people are saying that the fact that Samuel John Noko is 34 years old means that he is too young to be a pastor in the ZCC.
"Am not a spokesperson of the Church but to help you Admin, the ZCC hasn't ordained Priests in more than 25 years, and by then the guy would have been 12 years, making him ineligible to be ordained. Get your facts straight and stop dragging the name of the Church to garner readers"
'34 year old ZCC pastor? Never!!!! Just a church member perhaps"
"The guy is not a ZCC pastor. Stop misleading our people"
'There's no pastor in the ZCC who is 34, they're in their 50s and older.
