Theft of Motor Vehicle Recovery:
Around 1pm today, the CCPO supervisor Logan reported a Ford Ranger driving very recklessly along Dickens Rd in Athlone Park.
The vehicle was traveling at high speed, and dissapeared down Kynoch Road.
Other ground units were deployed.
Our ET Tactical Response Team was in the area, and went to well known spots looking for the possibly stolen vehicle.
Along Old Main Rd, a vehicle fitting the description drove past them.
Our TRT turned around in pursuit. At the same time, a report came in of a Ford Ranger stolen in the Bluff, the vehicle's Tracker Connect unit was activated. The TRT located the vehicle within minutes - which turned out to be the same one Logan reported.
The vehicle was found abandoned and was handed over the the Metro Police K9 who also came to assist, the police are always encouraging members of the public to give information, that could lead to the arrests of suspects.
Well done boys on the recovery.
