Cable Thieves Leave Pietermaritzburg In The Dark Again

The Eskom Msundizi was target by perpetrators and they stole essential power cables which left some part of Pietermaritzburg residents in the dark again, for hours after the incident. A number of areas had to stay in the dark on Wednesday from 6 p.m just because of people who only think for themselves, these cable perpetrators must be caught and apprehended. We can’t go on like this, if the law enforcement officers do not find them real quick… we will have a deficit of critical cables in the country which will cause worse load shedding.

They won’t stop, they will keep changing spots. There have to be high security measures in all Eskom companies to curb this stealing of cables. Eskom has to come up with a strategy to trap these perpetrators so that they get caught because residents are being deprived, some work from home therefore they become unproductive. Others have babies who need to be fed and to take a bath on time… including other residents who encounter different problems due to load shedding.
