3 dangerous prisoners are now on the streets after escaping from SAPS custody during transportation

A manhunt is currently underway in Dennilton as police search for three dangerous inmates who made a daring escape while being transported from Groblersdal to Witbank Prison this morning. Michael Masimula, Mahlatse Matebane and Lovemore Moshui, all aged between 20 and 40, were awaiting trial on charges of murder, rape, armed robberies, cash-in-transit heists and possession of unlicensed firearms and ammunition.

The escape occurred next to Moutse Mall in Dennilton policing area, as the three men and three other prisoners were being transported to prison. The Provincial Commissioner of Police in Limpopo, Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe, has ordered that the escapees be hunted down and brought back to where they belong.

The public is warned to exercise caution and not to approach the suspects, who are considered dangerous. Instead, anyone with information should contact Lieutenant Colonel Richard Boshomane on 079 894 5501, or the crime stop number 0860010111, or send a message via MySAPSApp.

A case of escaping from lawful custody has been opened, and investigations are ongoing to determine the circumstances surrounding their escape.
