Gender-Based violence refers to harmful acts directed at an individual based on their gender. It is rooted in gender inequality, the abuse of power and harmful norms. Gender-based violence (GBV) is a serious violation of human rights and a life-threatening health and protection issue.
It appears that waking up to a new day is a blessing for women in South Africa as a lot of men are still the top perpetrators of GBV, and still out there abusing our mothers and our sisters. Each day we learn about the passing of a young lady or girl on the hands of a man who was supposed to be protecting them.
According to the reports, we learn about the passing of a young beautiful woman from Wes bank in cape town. The young lady goes by the name of Siphokazi Makana, and she was just 28 years of age. Siphokazi was a young beautiful mother and Mzansi is saddened by her passing.
According to the reports, Siphokazi was found dead after she was murdered by her boyfriend back in the final days of July. She was found dead on the 31st of July, as she was heavily hit by a hot plate stove in the head.
Now, it seems like the two had an argument which led to the guy hitting her on the head unintentionally, as the reports states that their neighbours heard Siphokazi screaming until 3am , as she was being beaten. However it was reported that the boyfriend later realised that he killed her and washed her up and then dressed her up as well and fled the scene.
Now, a lot of people are so angry , and their rage is caused by the neighbours of Siphokazi, who heard a fellow apartment mate dying and screaming for help , and did nothing while they had cellphones. A lot Of people in the comment section were disgusted by her neighbours and went to attack them in the comment section.
