As we believe that in this new age, White supremacy and privilege has died but she tried her luck on it and it worked. So is discrimination really over?
Two police officers in Anchorage, Alaska are facing potential disciplinary action for the crime of having a sense of humor. The row began when a woman was pulled over last month for a traffic stop. Unable to find her driver’s license, Mimi Israelah (of Filipino heritage) instead flashed her joke ‘white privilege card’. Given that the officers could check her details via computer, and no citations were given, Israelah was waved on her way with a laugh.
Now the incident may be coming back to bite them, with the Anchorage Police Chief releasing a statement reading, ‘I know we are all human, but we belong to a profession that does not tolerate, practice, condone, facilitate, or collaborate with any form of discrimination.’ Or see the funny side of anything, apparently.
It’s unclear what actions the officers will face, if any, as the case is being treated as a ‘confidential personnel matter.’ Maybe they should print out a few more of those cards, just in case.
We can conclude and say discrimination and racism is slowly dying and the trouble they got into proves this...I say well done to the government who is trying to create a better world for everyone. Slowly but surely we are going somewhere as the human race. Let's unite and be inclusive and create better laws And mostly importantly a better world.
