Bushiri: Home Affairs Fires Top Official Over Resident Permit Fraud

While the self proclaimed prophet, Shepard Bushiri is yet to be convicted for his crimes in South Africa, those who aided his stay in the country before fleeing to Malawi are paying the price.

This comes after Home Affairs dismisses senior official involved in approval of Shepard Bushiri's application for permanent residence.

Chief Director for permitting, Ronney Marhule was found guilty on two counts of misconduct and non-compliance with the Immigration Act. The investigations have been going on since Bushiri and his family fled South Africa.

Shepard Bushiri and his wife Mary fled South Africa after being released on bail. They had spend weeks in prison over fraud and money laundering charges pertaining to projects and business ventures they had asked church members to partake in.

Home Affairs revealed that the dismissal of the senior official is an attempt to put an end the irregular practices and decisions made by home affairs officials within the system.
