Three people have been detained in connection with the murder of Bontle Mashiyane, a six-year-old boy who went missing three weeks ago. According to authorities, one of the suspects was currently out on bail due to a pending rape case in court.
Sharon Mashiyane, Bontle's aunt, said the family was having trouble accepting the news that their young baby had died. It's still surreal; it hasn't really hit me yet. It appears that we will still wake up from this nightmare, Mashiyane remarked.

Bontle's body was discovered in thick bushes near White River, roughly two kilometers from her home in Mganduzweni, Masoyi. Lt-Gen Semakaleng Manamela, the Mpumalanga provincial police commissioner, said on Sunday that her body was located in Mganduzweni on Saturday.
Manamela stated her case was handled by a specialized family violence, child protection, and sexual offences (FCS) section in Pienaar, and that it was highly prioritized. Two more suspects, a 64-year-old father and a 38-year-old son, have been detained for questioning, Manamela said.
On allegations of murder, kidnapping, and rape, the three accused will appear in court on Monday at Kabokweni magistrate's court.
Manamela claimed that the suspects, who were apprehended in Mpumalanga's Kabokweni and Masoyi and questioned by police about Bontle's disappearance, pointed out where her body was hidden before her body was discovered on Saturday.
