A man from Eastern Cape reportedly handed himself to police after realizing that he had killed his girlfriend .
The thirty-year-old man used a steel pipe for hitting his girlfriend following a heated argument between them .The boyfriend had assaulted his girlfriend before he went to work.
He went to work, reportedly leaving her lying on the same flow and on the same position. It is then that the suspect reportedly handed himself over to the law enforcement agencies .
Police expressed worry over the fact that the incident had taken place when South Africa was in the midst of the 16 Days if Activism for no violence against women and children.
The alleged killer will be making a court appearance on Monday the 29th of May . He will be appearing in the New Brighton Magistrate's Court .The identity of the victim was not revealed as investigations are still ongoing .
