Limpopo province is talking the road less traveled by honouring taxi drivers instead of seeing them as bad road users. It must be said that not all drivers are bad, although I might not be able to come up with an example right this second.
We a know the frustration of driving alongside taxi drivers during peak hours. They can really ruin your day and not even apologise.
Limpopo province believes there are those taxi drivers that prioritizes the safety of their customers over profits. It has therefore decided to host Awards for taxi divers on the on the 26th of February 2022, at Bolivia Lodge in Polokwane.
No criteria has been mentioned as to how these rare breed of taxi drivers will be chosen. All we know is that according to the MEC of transport in the province they do exist.
Women taxi drivers will also be honoured at the lavish event. I am not sure how the public will react to the news especially with all what we know.
