Two Limpopo Police Officials Sent To Jail For Corruption

The Directorate for Priority Crime Investigation applauds the Mokopane Regional Court's sentence of Warrant Officer Richard Matsobane Molokome (54) and Constable Karabo Archibald Sepato (40) for corruption on Monday, April 19, 2021.

Molokome and Sepato, who were stationed at the Tuinplaas police station at the time, were conducting crime prevention duties when they spotted a suspicious vehicle and pulled it over.

Some flaws were found while searching the car.

Rather than issuing summonses or impounding the car, the two cops requested a R1000 reward.

For the release of his car, the victim paid the requested sum, and the matter was reported to the Hawks' Serious Corruption Investigation.

Both suspects were arrested right away and found guilty by the Mokopane Regional Court on March 3, 2021.

Molokome and Sepato were sentenced to five (5) years in prison without the possibility of a fine, as well as being found unfit to own a weapon.
