How will the ANC rectify this? Their posters were torched by these angry residents in KZN

There are a few days to go before the national government elections in South Africa. However , will the ANC be able to make peace with some residents of Pietermaritzburg?

This is after the angry Nkululeko Informal Settlement torched some of the posters belonging to the ANC as a way of showing frustration over lack of service delivery.

The residents had taken it to the streets to demonstrate against the Msunduzi Municipality for neglecting a trench.Regina Road is reported to have been blocked on Monday by the angry Nkululeko Informal Settlement resesidents with burning tyres and broken glasses.

It also saw the residents burning the posters of the ANC. It is irresponsible of the Msunduzi Municipality to neglect a trench at a time when the rainy season is approaching. The community members are alleged to be afraid to move at night as they fear accidentally falling into the trench.

The trench is a danger for moving vehicles as well. The trench may also be dangerous for children when there is rainfall. When it is filled with water , a child may fall inside and drown as well.

This goes on to show how uncaring the Msunduzi Municipality is for its people. The Municipality started a project and never completed it on time. The community members had to go into the streets to demonstrate to make their voices heard.

It is concerning that in South Africa , for a concern to be taken into consideration there must be blocking of streets, singing, burning of tires, and breaking of glases.

Peaceful negotiations do not seem to yield any positive results. The elections are around the corner and the voters should open their eyes and make a sound decision so that the best party is voted for on election day.

Who do you think will be able to address the challenges being faced by the residents ?
