This information was made available by a certain South African Fact finder known as Beast Of News in his Twitter account when he said that" Nigerian online scammer arrested in Sandton, Gauteng Province. James Aliyu was arrested at his luxury home in Sandton, Joburg after scamming American citizens almost R296 million in fraud scam. His criminal spree involves romance scams via online dating sites and business scam".
Nigerians in South Africa engage in several illegal activities such as drug and human trafficking, scamming just like the one in focus, and car hijacking. This illegalities perpetrated by this foreign nationals was only made possible because of the lack of enforcement of South Africa immigration laws.
South African Government is advised to ensure strict k compliance with immigration laws to avoid criminals entering the country.
